5 easy steps to Motivate yourself!

How to motivate yourself and move on

Getting yourself back up after a fall is tough. The most difficult part is perhaps trying to motivate yourself to do it. So how do you motivate yourself and move on? Here are a few ways how.
1. Set goals
The key to getting motivation is setting specific goals. You have to list down a list of goals that you would like to achieve.
 2. Start small
Remember to start small first. Start with making a list of goals for each day. Little baby steps first! So once you are able to achieve your mini daily goal, you can now move on to bigger things.
3.Set a timeline
Have a timeline by which you have to adhere to. Your end aim will be for example to run in a half marathon race before the age of 30. So with that goal set firmly in your mind, you can start making mini goals from there to achieve the big goal in the end. You can start training for your half marathon run by training everyday first. Then after that, you start small with a 5km run and you move on to 10km run and finally when you are ready, you can go for a half marathon run.
4. Walk the talk
You may think that you are the best but you also need to start proving it.  It is all right to talk but also need to walk the talk. So start doing it. Start taking up new stuff to prove that you can do it too. Don’t let these new experiences pass by because you THINK you can do it.
5. Be persistent.
Don’t procrastinate! Motivation and success is inseparable. Motivate yourself : You can’t have success without motivation. The most successful people in the world may not be the smartest or the most talented but they are the most motivated. So remember to be persistent in your goals. It will never do to procrastinate and put off what you have to do today till tomorrow.

Most importantly, remember that if you ever fall down again, get back up and try again. You need to treat failure as a feedback for success. So start your day tomorrow by achieving something great!

Motivate yourself: 5 easy steps

To achieve high level success, you need to have an action plan. Having an action plan alone is not enough. You also need to follow through your action plans with actions. There is no point having an action plan that is just lying around if you don’t plan to do anything about it. So here are 5 tips on how to motivate yourself to achieve your goals.

Motivation and reward: what is the link?

When you see something big being accomplished, you can be sure that the person behind all these is a person with a strong sense of motivation. What exactly is motivation? Motivation is said to be the driving force by which humans achieve their goals. To achieve their goals, they are willing to work hard and overcome any obstacles that come their way.

Without this motivation, you can never expect to achieve any kind of high level successes. There won’t be any scientific discoveries, we wouldn’t be building skyscrapers or sending the first man to the moon. Many of the achievements happened not because the person achieving it was the smartest or most talented; it was because they are the most motivated.

So where does motivation come from? Motivation can come from an intrinsic or extrinsic factor. Intrinsic motivation refers to a motivation that is driven by interest or passion for that particular subject itself. They don’t need external pressure to show interest in that subject. Extrinsic motivation on the other hand comes from the outside of the individual. It could be rewards like money or recognition. It could also come from coercion and threats.

So it goes without saying that reward and motivation, you can’t separate the both of them. Even from intrinsic motivation, the reward of it may be personal satisfaction from being able to complete the task to the best of your ability.

Real motivation comes from real goals, real passion and real desire. Therefore the first step in motivating yourself is to decide clearly on the reward you want to achieve. For example, when designing a skyscraper, not only you get monetary incentives from designing that structure but you also get recognition and fame from accepting that project.

When you know clearly what you want and how much you want it to happen, you can now take the next step. You can think of ways to make your dream happen. So get motivated and start achieving your dreams now!

Firstly, set out specific goals you want to achieve. For example, set out a specific timeline for the development of your career. For instance, by the age of 30, I would like to be in this position and earn so and so salary.

The next step is you have to commit yourself to achieving that goal. It may mean putting in the extra hours or working extra hard. It may also mean signing up for new classes to pick up new skills necessary to achieve your goal.

Then, you also have to remember not to compare yourself with others. This can really affect your motivation. There will always be other people ahead of you. So you need to focus on yourself. Focus on improving yourself too. Then you could also review yourself. Compare yourself now with the you in the past. It will be such a great boost for yourself and a great motivation when you see how much you have improved.

You also need to get out of your comfort zone. You need to face challenges. Stop doing stuff that is routine to you. Try overcoming your fears. If you don’t step out of your comfort zone, you will never be able to achieve the success you want. If you are not stepping out because you are afraid of failure, start thinking of failure as feedback to improve yourself.

Next, positive support is always important. Remember to tell your friends and family about your goals and what you are going do to achieve them. So when you are feeling demotivated, your friends and family will be there to pick you up and motivate you again.

Lastly, remember to make every day count. Do something every single day to take a step towards achieving your goal!
